projects already underway and to learn about ideas to enhance access and expand

Friends' 2010 Year-End Celebration - we celebrated Friends' accomplishments in 2010, our fifth year on Dec. 2 at the P.O.S.T. Wellness enter Ballroom with music provide by the Rivereens.

Petaluma River Heritage Day - In conjunction with the Alma & Grace Quan’s annual visit to Petaluma, Friends of the Petaluma River celebrated our 2nd River Heritage Day on Oct. 9th. The event was open to our members and the community at large to join us for day and evening activities in the downtown turning basin and at the Petaluma River Heritage Center (RHC). Friends host Jon Young at the River Heritage Center - Tracker, mentor, author and educator Jon Young (http://jonyoung.org/) shared stories of his recent experience living with the Kalahari Bushmen with enthralled visitors at the RHC on July 30.

Tom Sawyer Days - On April 10th & 11th Friends of the Petaluma River hosted “Tom Sawyer Days” at the River Heritage Center, near downtown Petaluma. The event was part of The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. KRCB Channel 22 and Radio 91 FM is the lead agency for The Big Read in Sonoma County. See photos on Flickr.
